Enrollment
Enrolling in a course places you on the class list. A place is confirmed once the class reaches its minimum number of students and we have received your payment.
If a class does not reach its minimum, we will contact you before the start date and either move you to another session or cancel your place at no cost.
Payment
Course fees are quoted per course, in euros, and cover all listed sessions and any materials named in the course description.
Card payment is processed by our payment provider, PayComet. We never store your card details. Where card payment is not yet available for a course, we will arrange payment with you directly by bank transfer or in person.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancel more than seven days before the first session for a full refund. Cancel within seven days and we can offer a credit toward a future course, subject to availability.
Missed individual sessions are not refundable, though we will share materials where the instructor provides them.
If we cancel a course, you receive a full refund of any fees paid.
Writers' Collective membership
Membership gives you access to the rooms allocated to the Collective on weekdays. The allocation varies day to day and is published in the members' area.
Membership fees are billed on the cycle agreed when you join. Members may choose which of their contact details are visible to other members; Backstory retains all details for administration.
Room hire
Private hire is confirmed in writing and covers a stated room, date and time window. The hirer is responsible for their own guests and for leaving the room as they found it.
Hire bookings appear on our public schedule as unavailable; no details of your booking are published.
Conduct and the space
We ask everyone in the studio to be considerate of the other rooms in use. We may end a session or membership where conduct affects the safety or comfort of others.
Backstory is not responsible for personal belongings left in the space.
Data and contact
We hold the details you give us in order to run your enrollment, membership or booking, and we do not sell them.
